Basketball Recap: Hebron Hawks vs. Winamac Warriors

Hebron lost against Winamac back in February of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Hawks lost to the Warriors at home by a 46-28 margin. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Avery Groen was Hebron's leading scorer, having posted ten points. Abby Popplewell held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds. Megan Balas took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Kandace Kroft had another great game (as she tends to do), putting up 25 points and seven rebounds for Winamac. Kroft has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sadie Popejoy, who posted ten points and six boards.

Hebron's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Winamac, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Hebron will face off against Morgan Township at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cherokees' defense has only allowed 27.1 points per game this season, so the Hawks' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Winamac, they are taking a road trip to take on Rochester at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
