Baseball Recap: Fishers Beats Franklin Central for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Fishers entered their tilt with Franklin Central on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They had just enough and edged out the Flashes 4-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-5 on Thursday.

Hayden Werner tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Fishers' victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carter Strole, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Strole a new career-high.

Fishers' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fishers will square off against Columbus North at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bull Dogs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Franklin Central, they will take on Greenwood at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
