Baseball Recap: River Ridge Takes a Loss

River Ridge has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.68 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They lost 10-2 to the Berkeley Prep Buccaneers. The Royal Knights have struggled against the Buccaneers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

River Ridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hagen Conner, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Brayden VanFossen was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

River Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Berkeley Prep, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-7.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. River Ridge will challenge Zephyrhills at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Berkeley Prep, they will take on Carrollwood Day at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Buccaneers 2.5, the Patriots 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
