Recap: Azle Hornets vs. Saginaw Rough Riders
The Azle Hornets lost against the Saginaw Rough Riders back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Azle was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 37-36 to Saginaw. Azle has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Saginaw found their leader in underclassman Shaniah Franklin, who scored 18 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Franklin scored 15 or more points. Jazmine Duncan was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine rebounds.
Azle now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Saginaw, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14.
Azle will face off against Aledo at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Aledo is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 12 games. As for Saginaw, they will be playing at home against Granbury at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Granbury presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Saginaw in Texas (Granbury is ranked 239th, while Saginaw is ranked 870th).
