Baseball Recap: Florida Christian Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Florida Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past the Archbishop Carroll Bulldogs 10-1 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Patriots considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Steven Gonzalez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Adrian Diaz was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Andres Pasternac, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Florida Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Archbishop Carroll only posted a batting average of .185.

Florida Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Archbishop Carroll, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7-1.

Coming up, Florida Christian will welcome Somerset Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Archbishop Carroll, they will face off against American at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Archbishop Carroll is facing American at the right time seeing as American is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
