Volleyball Recap: Donna Takes a Loss

Donna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Porter Cowboys. The Redskins were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cowboys earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Donna started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 19-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-13.

Kaylee-Star Howell paced Donna's offense, picking up 13 kills. Howell got some help from Olivia Ramirez and her 14 assists. Finally, Sonya Perez kept Donna's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Donna now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Porter, they moved to 11-17 with that win, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Donna has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Donna North on the 4th. As for Porter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Mercedes on the 4th.
