West Linn won the last time they faced Tualatin and things went their way on Friday too. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Timberwolves.
Avery Wolf spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits.
On the hitting side, West Linn's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Emery Curtis, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Adi Johnston also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
West Linn has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Tualatin, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.
