Football Recap: Bluffton Skates Past Manchester with Ease

Bluffton had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 39-point drubbing they dealt Manchester on Friday. The Tigers breezed past the Squires to the tune of 45-6. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Squires, too.

Axton Beste went supernova, rushing for 97 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 88 yards and three TDs. Bluffton's leading receiver Aaron Streveler was Beste's top target yet again, picking up 67 receiving yards and two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bluffton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 250 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August of 2024.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Bluffton's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Cooper Craig and John Oleary-Freeman, who racked up six sacks between them.

Bluffton's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Manchester, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bluffton will welcome South Adams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Manchester, they will be playing at home against Wabash at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
