Collins won the last time they faced Walton-Verona and things went their way on Friday too. Collins came out on top against Walton-Verona by a score of 15-10. That's two games straight that the Titans have won by exactly five runs.

Breanna Morris made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and eight unearned) runs off ten hits. Morris was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooke Peterman, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. She also snagged a stolen base, marking her first of the season. Alyssa Clark was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Collins kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Collins and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Walton-Verona, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Collins is headed away from home for the first time to square off against George Rogers Clark at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Walton-Verona, they will challenge Boone County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
