Volleyball Recap: Cuba City Comes Up Short

Cuba City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Edgewood Crusaders.

Maya Misky paced Cuba City's offense, picking up five kills. Misky got some help from Emersyn Niles and her six assists.

Leading Edgewood to victory were Lexi Sheffield and Elle Siniscalchi. Sheffield had seven digs and two aces, while Siniscalchi had six digs and two aces. Siniscalchi is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Cuba City's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Edgewood, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Cuba City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Galena on the 8th. As for Edgewood, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Reedsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
