Soccer Recap: Mount Union Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Monday just wasn't the day for Mount Union's offense. They lost 15-0 to the McConnellsburg Spartans on Monday. While losing is never fun, Mount Union can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 518th, while McConnellsburg are ranked 85th).

Mount Union has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those eight matches. As for McConnellsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 17-0.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mount Union is set to face off against their familiar foe Fannett Metal at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, McConnellsburg will take on rival Southern Huntingdon County at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
