The Lakeside School Chiefs will square off against the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Lakeside School's favor as the squad sits on 28 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while St. Anne-Pacelli has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Lakeside School is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They came out on top against Coosa Valley Academy by a score of 6-1. Six seems to be a good number for the Chiefs as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Lakeside School saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Demetrius Hardnett, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Hardnett has posted since back in April. Another was Brayden Vachon, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, St. Anne-Pacelli got themselves on the board against Strong Rock Christian on Friday, but Strong Rock Christian never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Patriots. The victory was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Jaycob Veloz was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. He has become a key player for St. Anne-Pacelli: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 8-15 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Hudson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
St. Anne-Pacelli's win bumped their record up to 13-16. As for Lakeside School, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 22 of their last 23 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 51-5 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Lakeside School has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like St. Anne-Pacelli struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Lakeside School's way against St. Anne-Pacelli in their previous meeting back in March, as Lakeside School made off with a 10-0 victory. Do the Chiefs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
