Softball Recap: Wellsboro Comes Up Short

Wellsboro lost against Athens back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hornets took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wellsboro's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Athens, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-1.

Coming up, Wellsboro will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Coudersport at 4:30 p.m. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for Athens, they will head out to face off against Canton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
