Cobre hadn't done well against Socorro recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cobre Indians claimed a resounding 61-25 win over the Socorro Warriors. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 48-36 victory the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Socorro had strong showings from Adrianna Gutierrez, who posted four points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals, and Ariana Crespin, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards. Gutierrez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played.

Cobre pushed their record up to 10-11 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Socorro, their loss dropped their record down to 2-18.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cobre will square off against Hatch Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cobre is facing Hatch Valley at the right time seeing as Hatch Valley is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Socorro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hot Springs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
