Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Monrovia walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Indio Rajahs on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won five contests in a row.

Carly Polanco spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mikalah Ortega, who went 4-for-5 with one double and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Madison Cardona was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one double.

Monrovia's win bumped their record up to 19-9-1. As for Indio, they moved to 20-6 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Monrovia wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-1 victory against Don Lugo on the 16th. Indio does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
