Who's up and who's down

There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. That and more in this week's report.

Look Out Below

The MaxPreps state rankings speculated that Highland might lose last week, and the rankings were right on the money. It received a tough blow as it fell 31 - 14 to Rochester. The team got a solid performance out of junior Brady Feldmann (he rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns); unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win. The rough outing dragged Highland down three positions in the power rankings -- the largest fall of the week.

No Stoppin 'Em

68. That was the combined point total for Lockwood/Golden City and Valle Catholic when they went head to head last week, and it set the benchmark for all power ranking teams. Valle Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over Lockwood/Golden City, winning 41 - 27. Even if it didn't bump Valle Catholic up the rankings, the triumph at least kept team from dropping.
