Winfield is 7-1 against Brilliant since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Pirates will be taking part in a tournament against the Tigers at 11:00 a.m. Winfield will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Winfield and Phillips, and Winfield kept the tradition alive. The Pirates walked away with a 2-0 win over the Bears on Thursday.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Brilliant duked it out with Hackleburg on Thursday. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Panthers 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since September 9th.

Winfield now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Brilliant, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.

Winfield was able to grind out a solid win over Brilliant when the teams last played back in September of 2020, winning 2-0. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
