Baseball Recap: SouthWest Edgecombe Takes a Loss

SouthWest Edgecombe fell victim to Faith Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 2-0. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 12-9.

SouthWest Edgecombe saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Mears, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

SouthWest Edgecombe's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Faith Christian, their record is now 17-5.

SouthWest Edgecombe and Faith Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Cougars (ranked 53rd) will meet West Craven (ranked 372nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Faith Christian will take on Wilmington Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (88 vs. 278).
