Recap: Basic Wolves vs. Faith Lutheran Crusaders
The Basic Wolves pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-57 to Faith Lutheran. Basic has not had much luck with Faith Lutheran recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Basic's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alvonte' Nelson, who scored 15 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Christian Baltierrez, who scored 19 points.
Basic's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Faith Lutheran, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-5.
Basic will be playing in front of their home fans against Del Sol at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Del Sol's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests. Faith Lutheran on the road again on Wednesday and play against Bonanza at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th.
