Soccer Recap: Merced Comes Up Short

Merced was the 4-2 winner over Edison when they last played one another back in January of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Bears fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 5-4 on Friday. Raymond Gonzalez is probably feeling rather frustrated with he team right now: they lost despite he posting three goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Merced and nudges their season record down to 4-3-3. As for Edison, the victory got them back to even at 8-8-4.

Looking ahead, Merced will head out to take on Los Banos at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. This will be Merced's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Edison, they will face off against Weston Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
