Guilford is 9-1 against Belvidere since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Guilford Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the Belvidere Bucs at 7:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Guilford has four straight wins, Belvidere has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Tuesday, Guilford blew past Rockford East, posting an 80-5 victory. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Belvidere ended up a good deal behind Rockford Auburn on Tuesday and lost 67-48. While losing is never fun, the Bucs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Knights are ranked 132nd).

Guilford's win bumped their record up to 24-6. As for Belvidere, their loss dropped their record down to 16-13.

Guilford strolled past Belvidere when the teams last played back in January by a score of 66-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Guilford since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
