Football Game Preview: Sycamore Aviators vs. Lakota East Thunderhawks

Sycamore is on a seven-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Lakota East a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Sycamore Aviators will be playing at home against the Lakota East Thunderhawks at 7:00 p.m. Sycamore has given up an average of 45.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sycamore's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Lakota West on Friday. They were outmatched by the Firebirds and fell 56-0. While losing is never fun, the Aviators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while the Firebirds are ranked 32nd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lakota East). They strolled past Colerain with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 37-21. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Thunderhawks considering their six-point performance the contest before.

Sycamore better keep an eye on Ryder Hooks. He was instrumental in Lakota East's win, rushing for 320 yards and four TDs on only 15 carries. Hooks has become a key player for the Thunderhawks: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 2-3 otherwise. Pj MacFarlane also deserves some recognition as he hauled in his first receiving touchdown of the season.

Lakota East was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 320 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Sycamore's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Lakota East, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
