Basketball Game Preview: North Medford Black Tornado vs. Roosevelt Roughriders

The North Medford Black Tornado are taking a road trip to square off against the Roosevelt Roughriders at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Medford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season.

North Medford and South Medford faced off in a cross-town battle on Thursday. North Medford walked away with a 49-41 victory over South Medford. The score was all tied up 20-20 at the break, but the Black Tornado were the better team in the second half.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Medford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tate Snyder, who posted eight points and seven rebounds. Those seven boards gave Snyder a new career-high. Easton Curtis was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Roosevelt had no trouble coming through when it counted. They enjoyed a cozy 76-60 win over Benson Tech on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Roughriders, who have now won 17 games in a row.

Roosevelt pushed their record up to 19-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.7 points over those games. As for North Medford, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-10.

North Medford came up short against Roosevelt when the teams last played back in March of 2022, falling 61-49. Can North Medford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
