Basketball Recap: Sandy Valley Starts off Right with Win over Baker

Sandy Valley took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They put the hurt on the Baker Braves with a sharp 46-21 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Sidewinders also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Adamian Musko was the offensive standout of the match as he posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Kaden Turner, who put up eight points.

When it comes to explaining why Baker lost, don't look at Anthony Ortiz. Despite the final result, he had ten points in addition to seven boards and four steals. That was a full 47.6% of Baker's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Baker is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Sandy Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-14 defeat against Spring Mountain on the 10th. Baker has also already played their next game, a 46-30 win against Owens Valley on the 11th.
