Baseball Recap: Springstead Wins Going Away Against Lecanto

Springstead was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lecanto on Tuesday. The Springstead Eagles were the clear victor by a 9-1 margin over the Lecanto Panthers. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Lecanto's batters probably weren't too happy with Himanchall Persaud, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up four walks).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dalton Williams, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and one double. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Andrew Ward was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Springstead always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lecanto only posted an OBP of .154.

Springstead now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lecanto, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
