Football Recap: Newark Catholic Takes a Loss

While it was Newark Catholic who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was Worthington Christian who put up more. The Green Wave and the Warriors were almost perfectly matched up, but the Green Wave suffered a 21-20 defeat. While the Green Wave didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 7-0 in the first quarter.

Newark Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Worthington Christian, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newark Catholic will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Worthington Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Columbus Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
