Softball Game Preview: Westside Wolverines vs. ED White Commanders

Westside is 2-8 against ED White since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wolverines will be playing at home against the Commanders at 6:00 p.m. ED White took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Westside, who comes in off a win.

Westside will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run last Thursday, then bounced right back against Ribault on Tuesday. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 20-8 margin over the Trojans.

Nyla Millikin was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and two stolen bases. Valentina Lugo was another key player, getting on base in four of her seven plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, ED White came up short against Riverside on Thursday, falling 24-8.

Janari Buessey made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Melly Rivera Cruz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one triple.

The win got Westside back to even at 1-1. As for ED White, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
