Basketball Recap: Cash Slaughter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Macarthur over Mccollum

On Friday, the MacArthur Brahmas didn't have quite enough to beat the McCollum Cowboys and fell 60-58.

MacArthur lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Cash Slaughter, who posted 17 points. Zachary Long was another key player, putting up seven points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, MacArthur smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 22 consecutive matchups.

MacArthur has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season. As for McCollum, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-12.
