Softball Recap: Newman Central Catholic Comes Up Short

Newman Central Catholic lost against Kewanee back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Comets took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Boilermakers. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kaylee Benyo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Newman Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Kewanee, their record now sits at 15-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newman Central Catholic will venture away from home to take on Erie at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kewanee, they will head out to face off against Brimfield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
