Preview: St. Charles vs. Patuxent Panthers
St. Charles is 6-0 against Patuxent since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. St. Charles will head out on the road to square off against the Patuxent Panthers at 6:30 p.m. St. Charles is looking to tack on another W to their ten-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
St. Charles can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Huntingtown as St. Charles made off with a 56-34 win. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up eight more assists than your opponent, as St. Charles did.
St. Charles' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jadyn Forbes, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. It was the first time this season that Forbes scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was McKenzie Thomas, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Patuxent came up short against La Plata on Wednesday and fell 36-28. Patuxent has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
St. Charles has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Patuxent, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.
Everything came up roses for St. Charles against Patuxent in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 61-12 victory. With St. Charles ahead 45-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.
