Preview: Millbury Woolies vs. Auburn Rockets
Millbury and Auburn are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Millbury Woolies will head out on the road to face off against the Auburn Rockets at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Millbury is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Auburn in Massachusetts (Millbury is ranked 25th, while Auburn is ranked 209th).
On Monday, Millbury was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 55-49 to Tantasqua Regional.
Kenny Donnelly put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 22 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jimmer Donnelly, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Auburn ended up a good deal behind Northbridge on Monday and lost 61-42.
Millbury has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season. As for Auburn, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
Everything came up roses for Millbury against Auburn in their previous matchup on January 3rd as the squad secured a 72-21 win. With Millbury ahead 38-15 at the half, the match was all but over already.
