Basketball Recap: Baker Beats Immanuel Christian for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Baker came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Immanuel Christian Crusaders 51-27. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 63-23 last Wednesday.

Baker was led to victory by Anthony Ortiz and Anthony Ibarra. Ortiz went 7 for 15 on his way to 20 points and five assists, while Ibarra posted 11 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Ibarra is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed four or more in the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was Juan Alvarez, who put up two points and three steals.

Baker has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.9 points per game. As for Immanuel Christian, they dropped their record down to 2-16 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baker will venture away from home to square off against Trona at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Immanuel Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Mojave at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
