Softball Recap: Alta Comes Up Short

Alta and Cyprus squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Alta had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Hawks have suffered since May 12, 2025.

Brielle Watson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Alta has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season. As for Cyprus, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-12.

While Alta had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
