Basketball Recap: Wood River Takes a Loss

Wood River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They came up short against the Burley Bobcats, falling 66-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolverines have suffered against the Bobcats since February 2, 2021.

Despite the loss, Wood River still got an impressive performance from Dylan Schubert, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Max Fife, who had six points and six blocks.

Wood River's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Burley, their record now sits at 3-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wood River will face off against Gooding at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Wood River has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Burley, they will square off against Blackfoot at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Blackfoot's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games.
