Softball Recap: Childress Wins Going Away Against Dalhart

Childress got themselves on the board against Dalhart on Monday, but Dalhart never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Wolves with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Bobcats have won six games by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Ansley Parr made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Brinley Stone was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleigh Ross, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Childress was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Childress and bumps their season record up to 9-7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Dalhart, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-1.

Childress didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-1 loss against Bushland on the 21st. As for Dalhart, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 18-3 defeat against River Road on the 21st.
