Basketball Recap: Chester Cyclones vs. Emerald Vikings
The Chester Cyclones's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 63-32 loss at the hands of Emerald. Chester has not had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Emerald had a senior duo take command as Ti'yonia Tennant almost dropped a double-double on 19 rebounds and nine steals and Adrianna Smith dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Tennant is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Ryonna Talbert was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five steals.
Chester has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Emerald, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chester will take on the Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Clinton will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. As for Emerald, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Yellowjackets at 6:15 p.m. Union County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last ten games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
