Softball Recap: Eastlake Takes Down Steele Canyon in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Eastlake rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Steele Canyon Cougars 3-2. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Titans as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Addison Suriano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mia Vasquez was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Ryan Pham also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Eastlake's win bumped their record up to 17-11-1. As for Steele Canyon, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-13-1.

As of now, neither Eastlake nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
