Basketball Recap: Curlew Takes a Loss

Curlew was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 61-28 defeat at the hands of the Oroville Hornets. The Cougars were down 50-21 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Curlew saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gabriel (Gabe) Pak posted 13 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for Pak.

Curlew's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Oroville, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Curlew wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 66-21 loss against Selkirk on the 12th. As for Oroville, they have also already played their next game, a 58-16 victory against Soap Lake on the 12th.
