Basketball Recap: Kendra Alexander's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Logan/Palco over Rock Hills

Logan/Palco played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Rock Hills Grizzlies an easy 51-28 win. While losing is never fun, Logan/Palco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Rock Hills is ranked eighth).

Several Logan/Palco players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kendra Alexander, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Breyer Delimont, who earned eight points and six rebounds.

Bethany Simmelink continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Rock Hills, putting up 13 points along with six assists and four steals. Simmelink has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 24 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Halle Mizner, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Logan/Palco now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Rock Hills, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Logan/Palco will head out to challenge Cheylin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. After both having extra time off, Rock Hills and Red Cloud will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
