Baseball Recap: Port Charlotte Comes Up Short

After flying high against Imagine School at North Port last Wednesday, Port Charlotte came back down to earth. The Pirates fell just short of the Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons by a score of 4-3 on Saturday. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Fightin' Tarpons earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Port Charlotte saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Farias Donovan, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Port Charlotte has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. As for Charlotte, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Port Charlotte has already played their next game, a 15-0 defeat against Bishop Verot on the 8th. As for Charlotte, they will be playing at home against Lemon Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
