Basketball Recap: Duarte Falls Short of Orange in the Playoffs

Duarte and Orange squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Duarte had to settle for second. They lost to the Orange Panthers on the road by a 46-32 margin. The contest was a 19-19 toss-up at halftime, but the Falcons couldn't quite close it out.

Leading Orange to victory were Mark Hernandez-Chino and Vic Ceja. Hernandez-Chino posted 16 points, while Ceja had 15 points. Those 16 points gave Hernandez-Chino a new career-high.

Duarte's defeat dropped their record down to 13-16. As for Orange, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-24.

Duarte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Orange, they will venture away from home to take on South El Monte at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South El Monte will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Orange surely won't give up without a fight.
