Recap: Cottonwood Colts vs. Tooele Buffaloes
The Cottonwood Colts posted their biggest win since November 21, 2023 on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Tooele with a sharp 56-34 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cottonwood.
Cottonwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Avea Van der beek, who scored 13 points. Van der beek continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Carley Caton was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Tooele's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kennedy Searle, who scored ten points along with two blocks, and Josie Kennedy who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds.
Cottonwood's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Tooele, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Cottonwood will head out on the road to face off against Hillcrest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hillcrest is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Tooele, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Murray at 7:00 p.m.
