Week 10 headliner pits 8-0 Mansfield ISD schools Lake Ridge vs. Summit against each other.

Rain and lightning played havoc with weekend games across Texas in Week 9.

But between the lightning bolts, score a couple of big wins for Lake Travis (Austin) and Steele (Cibolo) in showdowns matching MaxPreps Texas Top 25 teams. Lake Travis handled Westlake (Austin) while Steele held off a second-half comeback from Judson (Converse).

Steele remains No. 5 this week while Lake Travis rises two spots to No. 6.



Looking ahead, a key Week 10 matchup on Friday involves a pair of unbeaten Mansfield ISD schools: No. 19 Lake Ridge (Mansfield) vs. No. 25 Summit (Arlington).

Kirby Bennett rushed for 142 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-0 blanking of Flower Mound.

2. (2) Katy 8-0
Garrett Doiron threw for 278 yards and four touchdowns, three to Tony Mullins, in a 56-0 blanking of Strake Jesuit (Houston). It was the sixth time the Tigers have held an opponent without a touchdown.

3. (3) Trinity (Euless) 9-0
Ja'Ron Wilson rushed for 344 yards and five touchdowns in a 49-14 thumping of Coppell.

4. (4) Cedar Hill 8-0
Avery Davis, Marquise Forman and Kaegun Williams each went over 90 rushing yards and scored a touchdown in a 26-2 victory over rival DeSoto.

5. (5) Steele (Cibolo) 9-0
Xavier Martin rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns as the Knights extended their winning streak to six over Judson (Converse), 20-13.



6. (8) Lake Travis (Austin) 8-0
Charlie Brewer threw for three touchdowns and ran for another in a 35-15 takedown of Westlake (Austin).

7. (7) Klein Collins (Spring) 8-0
Justin Pratt ran for 99 yards and two touchdowns while Jake Hume sparked the defense with a 50-yard interception return for a score in a 31-21 triumph over Montgomery.

8. (9) The Woodlands 7-1
Jordan Talford rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns and Eric Schmid threw for two scores in a 30-0 blanking of Oak Ridge (Conroe).

9. (10) Marcus (Flower Mound) 8-1
Nate Hopkins rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns while Zach Gough returned an interception for a score in a 31-9 win over Boyd (McKinney).

10. (11) Manvel 7-1
D'Eriq King threw for 172 yards and five touchdowns in a 62-0 blanking of Rayburn (Pasadena).

11. (12) Cedar Park 8-0
Tyler Lavine ran for two touchdowns and added a scoring catch in a 51-3 rout of Marble Falls.



12. (13) Judson (Converse) 7-1
The Rockets, down 17-0 at halftime, rallied with a 108-yard rushing yard performance by Julon Williams but came up short in a 20-13 loss to Steele (Cibolo).

13. (6) Westlake (Austin) 7-1
The potent Chaparral offense was limited to 214 total yards in a 35-14 loss to Lake Travis (Austin).

14. (14) Carroll (Southlake) 6-2
Lil'Jordan Humphrey rushed for 198 yards and two touchdowns and Mason Holmes threw for three scores in a 49-14 clobbering of Heritage (Colleyville).

15. (15) Pearland 9-0
Evan Burgess rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns in a 59-8 rout of Memorial (Pasadena). The Oilers spread it around, using nine rushers and 11 receivers.

16. (16) Dickinson 8-0
Jacobie Fowler returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown in a 27-20 victory over Friendswood.

17. (17) George Ranch (Richmond) 8-0
Alex Fontenot ran for 176 yards and four touchdowns in a 61-27 rout of Terry (Rosenberg).



18. (18) Permian (Odessa) 8-0
Brandon Bailey rushed for 189 yards and three touchdowns, part of a 477-yard rushing effort, in a 59-0 blanking of Midland.

19. (19) Lake Ridge (Mansfield) 8-0
Jett Duffey threw for 217 yards and three scores and rushed for 114 yards in a 56-14 rout of Legacy (Mansfield).

20. (20) Ryan (Denton) 8-0
Tyreke Davis rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-10 win over Keller.

21. (21) Westfield (Houston) 6-2
Dillon Sterling-Cole threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-13 derailment of Spring Dekaney (Houston).

22. (22) Reagan (San Antonio) 9-0
Marquis Duncan rushed for 327 yards and five touchdowns in a 56-35 triumph over MacArthur (San Antonio) that clinched the District 26-6A crown.

23. (23) Cinco Ranch (Katy) 8-0
Russell Morrison threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for another in a 24-12 roping of Seven Lakes (Katy).



24. (24) Crosby 8-0
Tristen Cotton threw for three touchdowns, including an 18-yarder to Mannie Netherly in overtime for the decisive points, in a 42-35 victory over New Caney.

25. (25) Mansfield Summit (Arlington) 8-0
The Jaguar defense limited Lancaster to 61 total yards and Josue Munoz kicked a pair of field goals in a 13-0 victory.
