Dougherty triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Kaleke Singletary-Jinks

Recap: Dougherty Trojans vs. Carver Tigers

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Dougherty Trojans ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 67-66 win over Carver. The victory was familiar territory for Dougherty who now have three in a row.

Kaleke Singletary-Jinks was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Jawuan Jinks jr was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tony Montgomery, who scored 21 points along with three steals. Montgomery is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tobiaz Tolbert, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Dougherty is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Carver, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-4.

Dougherty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carver, they will be playing at home against Thomasville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carver is facing Thomasville at the right time seeing as Thomasville is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
