Basketball Game Preview: Valley Pirates vs. Pinon Eagles

The Valley Pirates will venture away from home to face off against the Pinon Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Valley is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering St. Johns just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell 64-52 to the Redskins.

Meanwhile, Pinon entered their tilt with Greyhills Academy on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Knights 71-17. The matchup marked the Eagles' most dominant win of the season.

Valley's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-11. As for Pinon, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

Valley came up short against Pinon when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 65-55. Can Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
