Basketball Recap: Sheets Memorial Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jude Howell and Finn Everhart

Sheets Memorial Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Statesville Christian Lions, falling 62-36. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-34 back in November.

Finn Everhart and Jude Howell certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Everhart posted 11 points and eight boards, while Howell had 11 points and four steals. Howell is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least three every time he's taken the court this season.

Sheets Memorial Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Statesville Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Cornerstone Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Sheets Memorial Christian will host Cornerstone Christian Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, while Statesville Christian will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
