James F. Byrnes lost to Spartanburg last Wednesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The James F. Byrnes Rebels put the hurt on the Spartanburg Vikings with a sharp 13-2 win. With that victory, the Rebels brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Jaxson Camp made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Camp was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

In other batting news, Harrison Keels was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Jake Moss was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one triple.

James F. Byrnes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

James F. Byrnes now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Spartanburg, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Looking ahead, James F. Byrnes will square off against Gaffney at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Gaffney's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so James F. Byrnes' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Spartanburg, they will take on Wade Hampton at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Spartanburg has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
