Surry Central is leaving town to face South Iredell after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Golden Eagles came up short against South Stokes on Tuesday, falling 73-49. The loss continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their meetings with the Sauras: they've now lost five in a row.

Surry Central's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jax Whitaker, who shot 44% from the field en route to 24 points, and Damen Hazelwood, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 14 points and six boards.

Meanwhile, South Iredell was beaten by Foard 77-22 on Wednesday.
