Basketball Recap: Notre Dame De Sion Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Notre Dame de Sion won the last time they faced Lincoln College Prep, and Abby Wendte did her part to make sure it happened again. The Notre Dame de Sion Storm walked away with a 54-41 victory over the Lincoln College Prep Blue Tigers on Wednesday thanks in part to Wendte, who went 8 for 15 on her way to 21 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Another player making a difference was Taelyn Smith, who went 5 of 11 en route to 15 points along with five boards and three steals. The game was her third in a row with at least 15 points.

Despite the defeat, Lincoln College Prep saw an underclassman step up: freshman Dashion Andrews had 14 points. Andrews also set a new season-high mark in three-point shooting accuracy with 43%. Damiyah Johnson was another key player, putting up two points.

The win made it two in a row for Notre Dame de Sion and bumps their season record up to 10-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points over those games. As for Lincoln College Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Notre Dame de Sion has already played their next contest, a 70-25 victory against Bishop LeBlond on the 31st. Lincoln College Prep has also already played their next game (against Kauffman), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
