Basketball Recap: Seneca Drops Highest Score of Season Against Maplewood

Seneca's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They took down the Maplewood Tigers 63-47. The Bobcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Seneca's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gt Rupp, who went 6-for-10 en route to 16 points in addition to eight assists and five steals. With that strong performance, Rupp is now averaging an impressive 2.5 steals per game. Travis Dambaugh was another key player, shooting 50% from the field to rack up 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Seneca was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Seneca's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Maplewood, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Seneca will host Northwestern at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Maplewood has already played their next matchup (against Seneca Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
